Prof.dr Snežana Matijević

Prof. Dr. Snežana Matijević is a specialist in pediatric and preventive dentistry, with decades of experience working with children and promoting prevention as the most important aspect of maintaining oral health. Prof. Dr. Matijević, is a full time professor in the Study Program of Dentistry at the Medical Faculty in Podgorica. From 2006 to 2016, she was the director of the Health Center in Tivat, and in 2019 she was elected associate professor at the Medical Faculty of the University of Mostar, study of Dental Medicine.

She begun her studies at the Faculty of Dentistry in Belgrade in 1982, where she graduated in 1987. She enrolled in specialist studies in Pediatric and Preventive Dentistry in 1995, and, with the highest grade, has passed the specialist exam in 1998 in front of the examination commission of the Clinic for Preventive and Pediatric Dentistry). In 1996, she enrolled in postgraduate studies at the Faculty of Dentistry in Belgrade where she defended her master's thesis in "Oral health of school children in the coastal part of Montenegro” in 1999. In 2003 she defended her doctoral dissertation on “preventive dental protection of infants ".

Once the study program of Dentistry at the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Montenegro was founded, she was hired to teach the following subjects: Preventive Dentistry I and II, Pediatric Dentistry, Oral and Dental Injuries in Children and Management in Dentistry. She was elected assistant professor in 2010, and in the same year she was elected primarius. She was elected associate professor in 2015.)
